Step into a world of colour, card and creativity, in this kirigami workshop led by paper artist Shobhna Patel. During this relaxed session, you will create a papercraft nature scene, featuring two hares under an embossed moonlit sky. Displayed within a 16cm beautiful glass cloche.
Kirigami is a centuries old art form; illustrations are cut into paper to create a uniquely stunning and detailed artwork with a pop-up 3D effect.
With Shobhna’s expert guidance, you’ll learn the basics of kirigami and embossing, how to safely use a craft knife to carefully cut around bespoke templates, and learn techniques to sculpt paper and card into striking pop-up forms. No previous experience of working with a craft knife required.
Materials, equipment and refreshments will be provided. Please bring with you a waterproof bag to take your creation home.
